There is no reason to reverse the voltage at 1kV.Devices with this rating have an average rectified current of 1.5A volts.Phase diode rectifier is permissible for forward current to reach 1.5A.There is no maximum value for 50A surge current.Datasheets indicate that the peak reverse is 1μA.
