The TPS730 family of low-dropout(LDO)low-power linear voltage regulators features high power-supply rejection ratio (PSRR low noisefast start-upand excelient line and load transient responses in a smal SOT-23 package. NanoStar packaging gives an ultrasmall footprint as well as an ultralow profileand package weight making it ideal for portable applications such as handsets and PDAs.Each device in the family is stablewith asmall2.2-uF ceramic capacitor on the output.TheTPS730 family uses an advanced,proprietary BiCMOSfabrication process to yield low dropout voltages forexample120 mV at200mA TPS73030Each device achieves fast start-up times(approximately 50 us with a0.001-uF bypass capacitorwhileconsuming low quiescent current (170 uA typical).Moreoverwhen the device is placed in standby mode the supply current is reduced toless than 1uATheTPS73018 exhibits approximately 33 uVRs ofoutputvoltage noise at 1.8 voutput with a0.01-uFbypass capacitor. Applications with analogcomponents that are noise-sensitive such as portable RFelectronics benefit from the high PSRR and low-noise features as well as the fast response time.
