MCP1320T-29LE/OT Description
A voltage supervisor called the MCP1320T-29LE/OT is intended to hold a microcontroller in reset mode until the system voltage has achieved and stabilized at the appropriate level for dependable system operation. In the event that the system supply voltage falls below a safe operating level, these devices also serve as a form of protection against brown-out situations. When activated (by a falling edge on the WDI pin), the Watchdog Timer function in some MCP131X/2X family members watches the WDI pin for rising or falling edges. The MCP131X/2X devices will force the reset pin to be active if an edge transition is not detected within the anticipated amount of time. This is helpful to confirm that the host controller program for the embedded system is functioning as intended.
