UC2835NG4 Description
The design of low-cost, low-dropout linear regulators is optimized for the UC1835/6 families of linear controllers. Dropout voltages of less than 0.5V are easily produced using an external pass element.
These components include a precision reference, a 250mA output driver, and a high gain error amplifier. Additionally, the 2.5A peak output current is reduced to less than 0.5A at short circuit thanks to current sense with foldback. Both the fixed, 5V (UC1835) and adjustable, (UC1836) variants of these devices are offered. The only external components needed for the fixed 5 volt version are an external pass element, an output capacitor, and a compensation capacitor. With two external resistors, the adjustable version's output voltage can be adjusted from 2.5V to 35V.
