TPS76328DBVRG4 Description
The low-dropout voltage, low-power operation, and miniature packaging of the TPS763xx family of low-dropout (LDO) voltage regulators are advantages. Compared to traditional LDO regulators, these ones have low dropout voltages and quiescent currents. The TPS763xx series devices are available in a 5-pin, compact form integrated-circuit SOT-23 package, making them perfect for applications with limited board space and cost-conscious designs.
The conventional pnp pass transistor has been replaced with a PMOS pass element thanks to novel circuit design and manufacturing innovation. The dropout voltage is low—typically 300 mV at 150 mA of load current (TPS76333)—and exactly proportionate to the load current since the PMOS pass element functions as a low-value resistor. The PMOS pass element is a voltage-driven component, hence the quiescent current is minimal (140 A at most) and constant over the whole output load current range (0 mA to 150 mA). The low-dropout voltage characteristic and low-power operation have been designed for use in portable systems like laptops and cell phones, and they significantly extend system battery life.
