TPS61240TDRVRQ1 Description
The TPS61240-Q1 device is a high efficiency synchronous step up DC-DC converter designed for devices powered by either a one-cell Li-Ion or Li-Polymer battery or a three-cell alkaline, NiCd, or NiMH battery. Up to 450 mA of output current can be supported by the TPS61240-Q1. The maximum input valley current for the TPS61240-Q1 is 500 mA.
The TPS61240-Q1 device supports batteries with an extended voltage range and offers a fixed output voltage of 5V-typ with an input voltage range of 2.3 V to 5.5 V. The load is totally severed from the battery upon shutdown. Based on a quasiconstant on-time valley current mode control strategy, the TPS61240-Q1 boost converter is designed. When turned off, the TPS61240-Q1 exhibits a high impedance at the VOUT pin. This makes it possible to utilize the TPS61240-Q1 in applications where the regulated output bus must be driven by a different supply when it is turned off.
