TPD4S214YFFR Description
A single-chip protection solution for USB On-the-Go (OTG) and other contemporary, constrained USB applications is the TPD4S214YFFR. The OTG current supply to peripheral devices is controlled by an inbuilt low RDS(ON) N-channel current limiting switch in this device. For use with USB2.0 and USB3.0 applications, TPD4S214YFFR provides low capacitance transient voltage suppression (TVS) electrostatic discharge (ESD) clamping diodes for the D+, D-, and ID pins. From -7 V to 30 V can be applied continuously to the VBUS pin. The over voltage lock-out (OVLO) at the VBUS pin makes sure that the TPD4S214YFFR is able to isolate any fault conditions at the VBUS line and safeguard the internal circuitry from harm. Similar to this, the under voltage lock out (UVLO) at the VOTG IN pin makes sure that, in the event that VOTG IN drops below a safe operating level, there is no power drain from the internal OTG supply to the external VBUS. The OTG switch is engaged when EN is high, and the FLT pin shows whether a fault condition is present. If all operational requirements are satisfied, the soft start feature waits 16 ms before activating the OTG switch.
