The MSP430FR215x and MSP430FR235x microcontrollers (MCU) are part of the family of ultra-low-power, low-cost devices MSP430 chips for sensing and measurement applications. MSP430FR235x MCU integrates four configurable signal chain modules called intelligent analog combinations, each of which can be used as a 12-bit DAC or a configurable programmable gain operational amplifier to meet the specific needs of the system while reducing the size of BOM and PCB. The device also includes a 12-bit synthetic aperture radar ADC and two comparators. Both MSP430FR215x and MSP430FR235x MCU support an extended temperature range from-40 °C to 105 °C, so higher-temperature industrial applications can benefit from the FRAM data recording capabilities of these devices. The extended temperature range enables developers to meet the requirements of applications such as smoke detectors, sensor transmitters and circuit breakers. MSP430FR215x and MSP430FR235x MCU have powerful 16-bit RISC CPU, 16-bit registers, and constant generators to help achieve maximum code efficiency. The MSP430 Ultra low Power (ULP) Fram microcontroller platform combines a unique embedded FRAM with the overall ultra-low power system architecture, enabling system designers to improve performance while reducing energy consumption. FRAM technology combines the low power consumption, fast write, flexibility and durability of RAM with the non-volatile nature of flash memory.
