The LMR23630 SIMPLE SWITCHER is a 36 V, 3 A synchronous step-down regulator that is simple to use. It is suited for a variety of industrial applications requiring power conditioning from uncontrolled sources because of its wide input range of 4 V to 36 V. To provide easy control-loop compensation and cycle-by-cycle current limiting, peak-current-mode control is used. The gadget is suited for battery-powered systems because of its quiescent current of 75 A. An ultra-low 2 A shutdown current can extend battery life even further. Internal loop compensation relieves the user of the time-consuming effort of designing loop compensation. This also reduces the number of external components.
The device supports constant frequency FPWM mode to achieve low output-voltage ripple under light load. An extended family (HSOIC) is offered in 1-A (LMR23610) and 2.5-A (LMR23625) load-current configurations in a pin-to-pin compatible packaging for a simple, optimum PCB layout. The use of precision enables input to simplify regulator control and system power sequencing. Cycle-by-cycle current limitation, hiccup-mode short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown due to excessive power dissipation are all protection features.
