LM78L05ACZ Description
The three-terminal forward regulator of the LM78L05ACZ series (LM78Lxx in this document) has multiple fixed output voltages, so it is suitable for a wide range of applications. As an alternative to the combination of Zener diodes and resistors, LM78Lxx usually provides two orders of magnitude of effective output impedance improvement and low static current. These regulators can provide local on-card regulation, eliminating the allocation problems associated with a single point of regulation. The available voltage allows LM78Lxx to be used in logic systems, instrumentation, high fidelity and other solid-state electronic devices. The LM78Lxx adopts plastic TO-92 (LP) package, SOIC (D) package and chip size package (8-Bump DSBGA) using TI's DSBGA packaging technology. With enough heat dissipation, the regulator can provide an output current of 100 Ma. It includes a current limiting function to limit the peak output current to a safe value. Provide safe zone protection for the output transistor to limit internal power consumption. If the internal power consumption is too high for the heat dissipation provided, the thermal closing circuit prevents the IC from overheating.
