LM311M Description
Voltage comparators like the LM111, LM211, and LM311 have input currents approximately a thousand times lower than devices like the LM106 or LM710. They're also made to work with a larger range of power supplies, from typical 15V op-amp supplies to the single 5V supply used in IC logic. RTL, DTL, and TTL circuits, as well as MOS circuits, can use their output. They can also power bulbs or relays with switching voltages up to 50V and currents up to 50 mA.
The LM111, LM211, or LM311's inputs and outputs can be separated from system ground, and the output can drive loads referred to as ground, positive supply, or the negative supply. There are offset balancing and strobe functionality, as well as the option to wire OR the outputs. The devices are slower than the LM106 and LM710 (200 ns versus 40 ns reaction time), but they are less prone to spurious oscillations. The pin configuration of the LM111 is identical to that of the LM106 and LM710.
