The TMS320F28004x (F28004x) is a powerful 32-bit floating-point microcontroller unit (MCU) that allows designers to integrate critical control peripherals, differential analog and non-volatile memory on a single device. The real-time control subsystem is based on TI's 32-bit C28x processor and provides 100 MHz signal processing performance. The new TMU extension instruction set and the VCU-I extension instruction set further improve the performance of C28x CPU. The TMU extension instruction set supports fast execution algorithms using trigonometric operations commonly used in transform and torque loop calculations, while the VCU-I extension instruction set reduces the latency of complex mathematical operations common in coding applications. CLA allows you to significantly uninstall common tasks from the master c28x CPU. CLA is an independent 32-bit floating-point mathematical accelerator that executes in parallel with CPU. In addition, CLA has its own dedicated memory resources, which can directly access the key peripherals needed by a typical control system. Support for ANSIC subsets is standard, as are key functions such as hardware breakpoints and hardware task switching. F28004x supports flash memory up to 256KB (128KW) and is divided into two 128KB (64KW) groups for parallel programming and execution. 4Kb (2KW) and 16Kb (8KW) blocks also provide on-chip SRAM up to 100Kb (50KW) for efficient system partitioning. Flash ECC, SRAM ECC/ parity and dual zone security are also supported.
