TIP132 Overview
In this device, the DC current gain is 1000 @ 4A 4V, which is calculated by taking the ratio of the base current to collector current and dividing transistor by two.The collector emitter saturation voltage is 2V, giving you a wide variety of design options.Saturation of VCE means Ic is at its maximum value (saturated), and VCE saturation (Max) is 4V @ 30mA, 6A.Keeping the emitter base voltage at 5V can result in a high level of efficiency.Current rating refers to the maximum current a fuse can carry for an indefinite period without deteriorating substantially, and this device has a 8A current rating.Maximum collector currents can be below 8A volts.
