BS500B Overview
In order to protect the photodiodes against damage, they are packaged in the Bulk. It is necessary to enclose the photodiodes in Side View packages for safety purposes. A photodiode can withstand a maximum voltage of 10V if it is continuously reverse-biased. Photodiodes in reverse-bias mode should not continuously exceed 10V. It is possible for a photodiode to produce 3pA even without light input.
