NCP5322ADW Description
The NCP5322ADW is a second-generation, two-phase step-down controller that has all the control features needed to run high-performance processors and high-current power supplies. In high current applications, a proprietary multi-phase architecture ensures balanced load current distribution and lowers total solution costs. The enhanced V2TM control architecture offers the best overall regulation, the quickest transient response, and simplicity of usage. The NCP5322ADW is a second-generation PWM controller because it combines conventional Enhanced V2TM with an internal PWM ramp and fast-feedback straight from the VCORE to the internal PWM comparator to maximize transient responsiveness. These improvements increase design flexibility, make things easier to use, and lessen output voltage jitter. By reducing output voltage and input current ripple, the NCP5322ADW multi-phase architecture enables a large reduction in filter size and inductor values with a commensurate rise in inductor current slew rate. With this method, both the amount of input and output capacitors needed as well as the size and cost of the final product can be significantly reduced.
