The dual-mode converter NCP1500DMR2 can function as a linear regulator or a pulse width modulated (PWM) buck converter. The converter switches between the two modes automatically. When a synchronization signal is present at the sync input, the converter functions as a PWM. In the absence of a synchronizing signal, the converter functions as a linear regulator.
