MC7805CT voltage regulators are monolithic integrated circuits that serve as fixed voltage regulators in a range of applications, including local, on-card regulation. Internal current limiting, thermal shutdown, and safe area compensation are all features of these regulators. They can provide output currents in excess of 1.0 A with proper heatsinking. Although these devices are primarily designed as fixed voltage regulators, they can be utilized with external components to obtain variable voltages and currents.
