LM7905CT Description
Only one external component is required for these devices: a compensating capacitor at the output. The LM7905CT is a 1.5A output current device that comes in a TO-220 power package.
For safety against nearly all overload scenarios, these regulators use internal current limiting safe area protection and thermal shutdown.
The LM7905CT series' low ground pin current allows a resistor divider to readily raise the output voltage above the preset value. In the voltage boosted mode, the low quiescent current drain of these devices, together with a predetermined maximum variation with line and load, ensures appropriate regulation.
