MC9S12XEP100CAG Description
Through the addition of new capabilities, the new MC9S12XE Family of microcontrollers advances the innovation of the current MC9S12XD Family to enable improved system integrity and increased functionality. Along with improved EEPROM functionality (EEE), an improved XGATE, a frequency modulated phase locked loop (IPLL), and a quicker ATD, these additional features include a Memory Protection Unit (MPU) and Error Correction Code (ECC) on the Flash memory. In the 208-pin version of the top-of-the-line MC9S12XEP100, the E Family will expand the S12X product range up to 1MB of Flash memory with expanded I/O capability.
S12XE Family will give 32-bit performance with all the benefits and efficiency of a 16-bit MCU, with a focus on automotive multiplexing and general auto body applications. It will maintain the benefits of cheap cost, low power consumption, low EMC, and low codesize efficiency that users of Freescale's current 16-bit S12 and S12X MCU families now enjoy. The S12XE and S12XD families share a great deal of interoperability.
