MC33186 Overview
Into SMD/SMT packages, PTC thermistors are put to prevent damage. The PTC thermistors are packaged in the Cut Tape to ensure safety. It is recommended that the minimum operating temperature for the PTC thermistors be set to -40°C. It is necessary to keep the operating temperature of this thermistor below 85°C to ensure proper operation. PTC thermistors could operate at 15V voltages. A thermistor of this type should be able to supply 15V voltage when it is operational. This type of thermistors has been rated for a voltage of 15V in the DC circuit. PTC thermistors should produce 500mW heat. A PTC thermistor should not have a current higher than 100A. If the thermistor is to provide reliable performance, the voltage should be 15V. A DC circuit shouldn't exceed 15V with this thermistor.
