LT1763 is a micropower, low-noise, and low dropout regulator. They can provide 500mA of output power with 300mV dropout voltage. They are designed for use in battery-powered systems, the lower 30mA current of the quiescent makes them a good option. Quiescent current is effectively controlled and does not increase dropout like it can with other regulators.
