ADP3000AR Description
An adaptable step-up/step-down switching regulator is the ADP3000. In step-up mode, it runs from an input supply voltage of 2 V to 12 V, and in step-down mode, it functions from 2 V to 30 V. The device is perfect for applications requiring low quiescent current because it uses only 500 uA while it is operating in pulse frequency mode (PFM). In step-up mode, it outputs 180 mA at 3.3 V from a 2 V input, while in step-down mode, it outputs 100 mA at 3 V from a 5 V input. ADP3000 uses a switching frequency of 400 kHz. Due to the use of modest external components (inductors and capacitors), it is practical for designs with limited space.
