ADUM5201ARWZ Description
Dual-channel digital isolators featuring isoPower®, an integrated, isolated dc-to-dc converter, are the ADuM5200/ADuM5201/ADuM52021. The dc-to-dc converter is based on the iCoupler® technology from Analog Devices, Inc. It can deliver up to 500 mW of regulated, isolated power at 5.0 V or 3.3 V from a 5.0 V input supply or 3.3 V from a 3.3 V source at the power levels listed in Table 1 for each voltage. In low power isolated designs, these components take the place of the requirement for a separate, isolated dc-to-dc converter. The magnetic parts of the dc-to-dc converter's dc-to-dc converter are isolated from the logic signals using the iCoupler chip scale transformer technology. A complete isolation solution with a tiny form factor is the outcome.
Two separate isolation channels in a range of channel configurations and data rates are provided by the ADuM5200/ADuM5201/ADuM5202 isolators. Electricity is transferred through the transformer of isoPower using high frequency switching components. To comply with emissions requirements, extra care must be taken during printed circuit board (PCB) layout.
