What is the difference between active and passive video balun?

Active video baluns (also known as UTP baluns) are powered so that they can amplify the video signal longer distances than passive (non-powered) baluns. CCTV baluns transmit video signal from security cameras using unshielded twisted pair / UTP cable such as CAT-5 cable instead of coax cable, such as RG59.
