A hermaphrodite (or intersexed person) is someone who has some or all of the primary sex characteristics of both genders (for example, a penis and a vulva). There are three types of hermaphrodites: true, male pseudo and female pseudo. A true hermaphrodite is someone who has both ovary and testicular tissue.Jul 21, 2012');})();(function(){window.jsl.dh('_LupqYM2pAbyx0PEPyJyZoAc101','
True hermaphroditic humans do not exist, but pseudohermaphrodism does, where an individual has both male and female external genital organs, sometimes at the same time. Female embryos exposed to high levels of androgens (the male hormones) develop female internal reproductive organs but male external genitalia.
