Self-tapping machine screws are hybrids of machine screws and sheet metal screws. They're like regular machine screws, except they have thread-cutting abilities toward the tip.Jun 20, 2011');})();(function(){window.jsl.dh('6','');})();(function(){window.jsl.dh('_SumaYOjTM_-t0PEPwqusgAg39','
');})();(function(){window.jsl.dh('8','
The starting point for their length is at the widest point of the head. From that point to the tip is the length of the screw. Self drilling screws are measured all the way to the end of the drill point tip.
