A 20-amp screw-in fuse is generally used for outlet and appliance circuits wired with 12-gauge wire. A 30-amp screw-in fuse is most commonly used for circuits supplying electric clothes dryers or air conditioners. These circuits are wired with 10-gauge wire.Nov 1, 2019');})();(function(){window.jsl.dh('_xJ90YJ3-Ls35-gTejaD4Aw39','
The 15 amp slot is designed for handling current upto 15 amps so if you put a 20 amp fuse in a 15 amp slot and draw a current greater than 15 amps there will be heating and other issues like molten insulation you can put a 20 amp fuse only if u know that u are not going to draw more than 15 amps.
