First, to turn ON the WiFi Adapter, click on the up \u2013 down arrow in top right corner of the Raspbian Desktop. Click on the double arrow symbol once again to see the list of WiFi networks available near the Raspberry Pi. The quickest way to enable wireless networking is to use the command line raspi-config tool. Select the Localisation Options item from the menu, then the Change wireless country option.
