What is the difference between a flash drive and a thumb drive?

1. A Thumb drive is a generic term which refers to a USB drive or a pen drive. On the other hand, the Flash drive is a plug-and-play portable storage device that uses flash memory, aka non-volatile memory to hold data. It has no movable parts.
