RJ45 is an 8P8C connector, larger than RJ11, RJ14, and RJ25. Ethernet is a networking standard, the the CAT-4/5/5e/6 cables specify not only the use of the RJ45 connector, but also that the wires are arranged in twisted pairs and have certain electrical properties.
