In order to get 24v from a 12v supply, you'll need a "DC-DC converter", also called a "boost" or "step-up" converter. A DC-DC converter or boost converter has a chopper circuit (oscillator) that provides current to an inductor via a diode. The current flows for a bit, and then is cut off.Feb 5, 2008');})();(function(){window.jsl.dh('7','');})();(function(){window.jsl.dh('_54ugYLm4L5Xe-gTtoaXACA30','
');})();(function(){window.jsl.dh('9','
Dc to dc converters, called choppers, are supplied from a dc voltage source, typically a diode rectifier and a dc link, as shown in Fig. 1.37. The dc link consists of a large capacitor connectedacross the input terminals of the chopper and, often but not necessarily, a series inductance.
